About us

Safety Management Services (IoM) Limited is a wholly owned Isle of Man registered business operating since 2006. Our team offers a range of health and safety consultancy services that reflect on the competence of individuals. The company was formed by Stan Yellop and Neil Curphey with the view to offering Island organisations a portfolio of health and safety services that contribute to enablement of legislative responsibilities, moral and financial benefits thereby enhancing risk management performance.

Managing Director

Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner with 27 years’ experience in managerial and varied consultancy health and safety roles. Lead tutor for NEBOSH, IOSH, and CITB Cskills Awards Site Safety Plus courses; trainer on UKATA awareness courses; asbestos surveyor; expert witness; Planning Supervisor for construction projects that are notifiable in accordance with the Isle of Man Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Neil Curphey

Neil Curphey CMIOSH ICIOB IMaPS MIIRSM

Director

Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner with 15 years’ experience in the construction industry. Trainer for the following organisations NEBOSH, IOSH, CITB Cskills Awards Site Safety Plus, NPORS and UKATA. Carry out management and pre-refurbishment/pre-demolition asbestos surveys and project manage the removal of asbestos materials; act as a Planning Supervisor for construction projects that are notifiable in accordance with the Isle of Man Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Associate Consultant

A safety professional with over thirty years’ experience in a wide range of OSH disciplines, a subject matter expert in fire safety, and fire risk assessment. An accredited NEBOSH and IOSH tutor. Act as a Planning Supervisor for construction projects that are notifiable in accordance with the Isle of Man Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Many years’ experience of office work, gained in UK and Australia, which enables a diverse range of duties to be undertaken throughout the company. Such duties include book-keeping, invoicing, banking and financial reports, crucial maintenance of communication between the business partners, consultants and clients.
